• Choose a window style which will enhance both the look and value of your property. Think carefully about window proportions, the color you select, the configuration of any opening lights and even the addition of colored or leaded glass. • Check that you have selected the level of security for your uPVC Windows and Doors which meets your needs. Look out for BS7950 or PAS23/24 approval
• What type of glass do you need? It is well known that double glazing can significantly reduce heat loss from your home, but triple glazing and ‘low emissivity’ glass can reduce it even further. In areas where safety is paramount toughened or laminate glass should be chosen, whilst asking for a wider gap between the panes of glass can help improve sound insulation.
• Consider adding authentic touches to your new windows, either to match the existing windows which are being replaced or to ensure they are in keeping with your property. Additional features available include Georgian Bars; arched head inserts and sash horns.
• Ask us about the accreditations for the uPVC Windows and Doors system for Our profile system. Our profile systems hold BS7412 for weather performance and air leakage; in fact Our systems are one of the few to be tested for severe weather conditions. Our systems are also kite marked to BS EN12608 for extrusion standards which incorporates BS EN ISO 9001 for company procedures ensuring that the profile for your new windows have been manufactured in the India to the highest possible standards.
• Have you considered the option of colored windows – a colored or wood grain finish can add individuality to your home. If you chose a wood grain or colored effect to the exterior you can still have a white interior or chose another color finish to enhance the interior of your home. • Before any work starts check whether planning permission is required. If you live in a Conservation Area, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or in a List Building you are likely to require planning permission to change your windows and doors, or to add a conservatory. Check the regulations with the Planning Department of your Local Authority. In case of any problem, please ask us for free advice.
